The symmetry axis located at r = 0. The redundant three dimensional solution is obtained by rotating the half plane about the symmetry axis. The electrode is located along the symmetry axis where Z > 0.09. The length scale of the axes is in meters. Isothermal lines from 20 to 95°C in steps of 5°C are also shown. The temperature distribution shows the formation of a spherically shaped thermal lesion around the electrode. The cooling of the electrode shifts the temperature maximum away from the electrode.
