Flow system constructed to measure the pressure gradient along the SMP foam and MEC samples. The pressure gradient was measured utilizing two high accuracy pressure transducers, and the flow rate was measured by hand with a graduated cylinder and a digital stop watch. A fine mesh (stainless steel 316, 0.1E-3 m wire diameter, 4E-7 m2 squares) was installed at the inlet of each sample chamber to homogenize the incoming flow.
