Velocity profiles over dimensionless vessel diameter with various blood models on a low Reynolds number, taken from our previous study [17]. Figure (a) shows the RSA with an approximately diameter of 9.3 mm, Figure (b) shows the velocity profile for the smaller FA with a vessel diameter of 2.9 mm. The non-Newtonian power-law approach results in lower velocity values, due to more viscosity on low shear rate in the FA in Figure (b). This effect was not observed in the larger RSA in Figure (a).
