NIR reflection spectra from four developed skin models at varied V _melanin and V _water . The skin model 1 and the skin model 2 were the Caucasian skins (lower V _melanin ) with normal hydration (higher V _water ) and dehydrated (lower V _water ) respectively. The skin model 3 was the African skin (higher V _melanin ) having normal hydration (higher V _water ) while the dehydrated African skin (higher V _melanin and lower V _water ) was for the skin model 4.
