Xenogeneic bones have no effect on cells proliferation. The test solutions of xenogeneic bone (bone 1), fresh bone and ZDEC are prepared according to ISO10993-12: 2012. The proliferation of test solutions on L929 (a) and hPBMC (b) was detected by MTT assay. RPMI medium 1640 was used as control, ZDEC was used as positive control in L929 test, and PHA (10 μg/mL) was used as positive control in hPBMC test. The histogram indicated the viability of L929 or relative proliferation of PBMC using the following formula: viability (%) = optical density value of test sample/optical density value of control × 100; relative proliferation = optical density value of test sample/optical density value of control. Data were representative of at least three independent experiments; statistical significance was defined as **p < 0.01 and *p < 0.05 compared with control
