The 'coordination diagram' shows the course of the relative number of coordinated R-peaks (in a window of 500 R-peaks) at their respective m:n-ratio (method: 'Phase recurrences'). In this examples the 4:1-coordination prevails. The absolute maximum of 68% of coordinated R-peaks turns up at about midnight. The line in the diagram depicts the 'total coordination', i.e. the amount of coordination regardless of the m:n-ratio. Obviously, the cardiorespiratory coordination seems to oscillate.Back to article page
